Tip top experience from the moment we were picked up in an old school bus by Brian, to being dropped back off in Jasper town centre. All the staff were really friendly. Zach was our guide who did… Full review by Road14152902406

Great fun. Not scary at all - but really beautiful We had a terrific guide, Cort. He was very engaging and funny. We strongly recommend this for "beginners" at white water rafting. We left Jaspe… Full review by JoeNathan9249

We suited up with water repellent ponchos and life vests before boarding our rubber raft. The water was rushing, but the rapids were mostly category 1. Somehow, I got drenched no matter which way o… Full review by Barbara M

Good morning from Jasper, The bus ride out to our launch site, is about 12 - 17 minutes, depending on if we encounter any Wildlife jams. (A Wildlife jam is when cars slow down, or stop, to see Wildlife on the side on the road.) If you are being picked up from the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, please add an additional 20 minutes to the drive time. Hopefully this answers your question... and please feel free to ask more. See you on the river... Scott :)

We're interested in doing a raft tour in late September. I imagine temperatures will have cooled off by then. Do you get wet on the raft tour? Is it calm enough that you can bring a nice camera and take photographs along the way? Do you need a dry bag for photo equipment?

Hi Volcanogirl, Yes... morning and evening temperatures do cool off in late September, but we do often get surprised by warm afternoons. Dress in layers, bring lots, as you can always leave whatever you won't be using on the river, in the bus. There may be the occasional splash, that might get your bum wet, yet we are not out to soak you. There is plenty of time to take pictures of the stunning scenery, and sometimes animals. If you have a dry bag, please bring it. Although you probably won't need it, it is better to be overly cautious, especially if you have the gear anyways. See you on the river... Scott :)

Hi Volcanogirl, Yes, our Park licensed Raft Guide will provide commentary on both the Human and Natural history / features along the way. Hopefully we'll even see some animals. Water levels are more affected by the temperatures in the preceding 48 hours. A majority of the water comes from the Glacial Melt of the Athabasca Glacier just 60 miles up river. (Mid June to mid August is when we tend to see the warmer temperatures.) Hope this answered your questions... Scott :)

Q:
Generally speaking are reservations needed to reserve a spot and what are the daily departure times?
A:
I would advise booking in advance, especially if you want a transfer from your hotel. Each raft holds a maximum of 20 and when we went there were 3 rafts going down at the same time.
Q:
Do you provide waterproof shoe covers and ponchos?

Hi Floridagal, We do not provide waterproof shoe covers, yet depending on the weather conditions ... we do offer complimentary ponchos. We recommend sandals, or a running / sport shoe. Jasper tends to have a very low humidity index level... things dry very fast in Jasper. :)
