The road is paved the whole way to the lookout. It’s curvy and narrow in spots but worth the trip.

I recommend you rent a car. We rented a 2 passenger diesel Roadster - it was really loud and a tight fit for 2 people with no storage. Moorea is easy to get around. Without stops, it only takes about 45 minutes to make it around the island.
