The beginning of the tour they go slow because they are introducing you to some gators. You'll get to see them feeding them and might even get one on your boat (We got a young gator on ours it was very exciting!) There is a portion of the tour that they go pretty fast around the waterways, it was more comfortable wearing sunglasses during this portion as well as securing hats, as the wind was strong. You do get the option of wearing ear protection that is provided or your own earplugs, which was also useful during the faster paced part of the tour.
