Very interesting place. My kids really enjoyed the collection. Oneof the employees was very knowledgeable about the different Rick's and showed us a few that glowed under a black light.Full review by DakotaJim

There is lots to see especially if they like dinosaurs and ancient skeletons of them. An adult "interpreter" with them will make it more interesting. I have been to the dinosaur museum (at SD Mines and Technology) and though nice is not as impressive as Museum @ Black Hills Institute. Of course, they would like the gift shop, too. Most young people (and adults) can find something new and interesting as a souvenir.

Make sure to carve out some time for the gift shop as well. Everything Prehistoric can easily take another 30 minutes, or hours... or days... if you like minerals, fossils, natural mineral and gemstone jewelry decorative items, dinosaur toys, educational toys, books on geology, minerals, natural and local history and so much more, then you may want a bit more time!

There is a rear entrance that is at street level. You just need to ask for instructions and someone will meet you at the rear entrance to show you into the gift shop and museum.
