We just drove through the pass, but there were many runners and cyclists there.

It's a pretty tight, two lane road without much of a shoulder. I would go single file.

Yes plenty of them. There are not any restaurants if that is your question. I would suggest stopping by Legers sandwiches or even better uptown fare for a lunch to go. These are both in Park City. Once you are in Guardsmans pass you will see several spots for a great picnic.
