It's a beautiful place spoilt by industrial scale tourism. 500 boats a day according to our guide, and all seemingly settling off at the same time on the same schedule. I would find somewhere quieter…Full review by Mark P

The cruise we booked included transfer, all meals, kayaking tour, walking cave, hiking up island. It was cold and we could not swim but kayaking is so amazing.Full review by Alans M

Our time at Halong Bay was peaceful, with its stunning seascape leaving a lasting impression. We woke up early to catch the beautiful sunrise—it was serene, though a bit crowded with other tourists. …Full review by Sly B
Hello, we are looking to do a 3D2N cruise in March 2025. Is it better to book this in advance or wait until we get there? Does it make much difference with costs? We don't want to pay excessively but also don't want to risk arriving and not having any availability. Thanks for your advice!

On our cruise boat Casta cruises there were vegetarian ( fish) dishes . Not vegan. Wehad great fun on the boat. We did kayaking , rolled spring rolls with the chef, danced and had good fun. But we were together with a group. I donot know if there are any dedicated vegetarian / vegan cruises. May be you could ask directlt.
Is a day cruise better than overnight one for a couple that’s vegetarian and not water babies? And are there any day cruise companies that are vegan/veg only?

Is anyone in Halong Bay right now who can let me know how bad the devastation is since Typhoon Yagi? I have an upcoming trip planned - wondering if I should postpone until another time? Are the cruises still running?
