You will find great cabins here for sure with everything you need. They are elevated so you will be climbing one flight of stairs unless you choose cabin #1 which offers a ramp. You can rent a small boat (22 foot motorboat or tandam/single kyaak) and explore the Raymond Lake, Oauchita River and Moro Bay. Our six year old spent hours playing in the water behind our cabin. In the evenings, make a fire and have snores at your fire pit by the water. There is a playground with a large grassy area. You can borrow balls, horse shoes etc from the park store. There is an easy walking trail that takes you through beaver habitat. We also took a daily walk to the camp store for some candy each day. There is an exhibit about the ferry that used to operate at this location. There are things to do for sure! However, there is nothing like horseback close by that I am aware of. In fact, there is not much of anything close by. You might want to consider Oauchita Lake State Park that is closer to Hot Springs if you want more activities away from the park. Lake Oauchita has beautiful cabins too and larger pontoon boats for rent. If you have no interest in renting and personally operating a boat I would take these two parks off your list. These two parks are all about getting out on the water. Instead consider Petit Jean State Park. Petit Jean is Arkansas original State Park and has more land type recreation.
Q:
Can the cabin comfortably sleep six? We have four children ages 12, 13, 15, and 18. Thank you!
A:
The cabins have 2 bedrooms plus a sleeper sofa in the living room. You could always put a airbed in the bedroom if you needed more room as the rooms are very spacious.
Q:
Can you check into your cabin after hours
A:
Yes, you can check in after hours. Call the office and they will set you up with a code.
