Thinking about an end of year trip around Christmas to New Year. Active family, college age kids. Is the temperature reasonable for hiking, horseback riding.etc. Weather history seems to indicate 50s-60s during the day but I'd love to hear from anyone who has actually visited then. Thanks!

Either one is only about 30 to 45 min. max from the highway to the visitor center in each section Try putting in your map app on a smart phone - Tucson to the Red Hills Visitor Center (West part of the NP). You'll get a good number that is likely in that range.
Recommended shorter hikes in the park? We will be visiting both locations.
