Biking 4 to 5 miles out and back, what would you suggest as the most scenic stretch of Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail?

The trail portion by the dune climb has the hilly section. It has wooded areas. Near Glen Haven is more beach

Absolutely. Most places are dog-friendly (except the actual Dunes themselves), so you shouldn't have a problem around Glen Arbor and vicinity.

You can't drive on these dunes at the National Park, but if you head south, down to Silver Lake Sand Dunes, you can. If you google Silver Lakes Sand Dunes, you'll find several …

You can't drive on these dunes at the National Park, but if you head south, down to Silver Lake Sand Dunes, you can. If you google Silver Lakes Sand Dunes, you'll find several places that rent vehicles. Or you can take a group ride. Not sure the costs though.
