They say you can fish at this lake. You can, but there are no fish in this lake. I believe the last fish was pulled out was in 1909.Full review by Relax36165116774

Yes you can swim at the many lakes in Powell River which it has to offer there. It's safe to swim also in the ocean and there is Wellington beach along the main road way coming off the ferry coming from Comox or a longer ride from coming from the other end off the other ferry. Inner lake is a nice spot to camp, swim, Kayak and take the walk or bike around the whole lake, which is a beautiful walk to do. It is something like 17 Km to walk around or if you can't do all of it at lease do part of it. When in Powell River go to the Visitors Center and get some information on trails and camp sites for Powell River and Lund. At Lund there is a Bakery called Nancy's bakery, where you can get food and goodies and buy bread and drinks. Powell River is a great place to go and visit.
Looking for any suggestions for best sites to reserve at Inland Lake, planning 4 months ahead gives a selection. Lakeside or close, Sunny or partially shaded, not too far from toilet. Tenting with kayaks and bikes.

The sites right near the beach tend to busier with foot traffic and people in the water so they tend to be noisier at least in the summer time. Bernie
Hi travelling there from Australia in 2 weeks. Is it safe here to camp in a 2man tent? ie... From wildlife. Thanks

Black bears are in abundance right now, even in town. But they are more of a nuisance than anything else, looking for anything to eat to fatten up before hibernation sets in. Just make sure your food is secure and either put in your vehicle or tied up on a tree limb overnight. In the daytime there is usually too much human activity/noise that the bears will not likely bother you. Hope you really enjoy the Powell River area. Late summer/early autumn is usually a fantastic time. By the way, if you are still here in the Fall and you want to see some bears up close, try to make it down to Lang Creek. The bears love to go there and eat salmon as the fish start to go up the stream to spawn. Cheers.
