Is this place safe for a solo female(local) traveler. I know nature watching has no time restrictions, but how many hours will it takes to cover the whole area.

In terms of time needed, it depends on what you plan to do. If you're there just to embrace the atmosphere of some clean fresh air (with a hint of mud in the canals) and walk on that beautiful lake banks, you should visit early morning (6-8am) or late afternoon (after 3.30pm). This should take about 2hrs but if you're interested in birding, this may take longer. About safety, never come across or even heard of any mugging or issues regarding safety. The shady pathway is predominantly occupied by courting couples so this can be a nuisance most of the time. I wouldn't say safety is a major issue. However, it's best to take precaution at all times. Why not do a recce one of these days maybe with a friend and see for yourself? Oh, avoid rainy days by all means coz this is after all a wetland park.
