The city received 41.2 mm of rain between 8.30 am on Friday and 8.30 am on Saturday. This is the highest rain seen in Delhi in 24 hours in December since 1923, when 75.7 mm of rain was recorded on December 3. December this year has also seen the most amount of rain since 1997 when 71.8 mm of rain was seen in the month.

NCR on Saturday, causing the day temperatures to drop sharply. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for the weekend, predicting more rain.

Heavy rains continue to hit Delhi causing waterlogging and traffic issues. More rain and thunderstorms are expected in Delhi and nearby areas. Delhi recorded its highest rainfall in December in 15 years.

The IMD has forecast a further drop in temperatures across the Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan regions over the next two days. Residents in the affected regions have been advised to prepare for colder conditions as the mercury dips further.

An 'orange' warning was issued in Delhi after rain lashed several parts of the national capital and adjoining areas on Friday. The rain is expected to continue in the city.

According to the IMD, the active Western Disturbance and its interaction with the easterly winds are causing the rain.
