With 30 miles (48 km) of tall black temporary fencing, 25,000 law enforcement officers and security checkpoints set up to process hundreds of thousands of spectators, Washington is braced for President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration next week.

Donald Trump's presidential inauguration is scheduled to begin at noon ET. According to the U.S. Constitution's 20th Amendment, each presidential inauguration should take place Jan. 20, unless that date falls on a Sunday. Then, the president takes the oath of office in private Jan. 20, and the public event is moved to Jan. 21.

Donald Trump’s second inauguration is expected to attract some 250,000 ticketed attendees, and to be a much different affair than the last time America got a new president.
