Musk, who serves as co-chair of the Department of Government Efficiency and advisor to US President Donald Trump, announced that federal employees must submit a detailed report of their weekly accomplishments.

Musk posted a directive on X that said all federal employees must describe what they have "got done" in the past week.

In a sign that not every Trump official is on the same page, leaders at the FBI and State Department instructed employees not to respond.
