Maryland women’s basketball’s Bri McDaniel, a key piece of the team’s rotation, will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.

The No. 8-ranked Maryland women’s basketball team was dealt a big blow, as guard Bri McDaniel was ruled out for the season Monday with a torn right ACL. The junior from Chicago was carried off the floor during the team’s 99-92 win over Minnesota last week.

No. 8 Maryland fell to No. 7 Texas, 89-51, at the Prudential Center on Monday. The Terps have lost both of their games against top-10 opponents this season. Maryland’s (16-2) offense was stagnant throughout the first two quarters. Turnovers played a vital role in the Terps’ lowest first-half point tally of the year.

Maryland women’s basketball lost its second game of the season against Texas, and the Terps saw another guard leave a game injured.

No. 8 Maryland had its worst possible performance in the Coretta Scott King Classic against No. 7 Texas Monday, falling 89-51. The Terps endured a potential season-altering blow as Shyanne Sellers got hurt and limped to the locker room in the second quarter.
