Ohio State will get their rare chance to exact revenge over Oregon when the two teams meet in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals at the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day. We all know what happened in the first meeting between these two teams.

The last time the Oregon Ducks and Ohio State Buckeyes met, Ohio State had a chance to get into range to kick a game-winning field goal attempt. Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard scrambled up the field and failed to get down before the clock expired.

The Buckeyes fell to the Ducks on the road 32–31 in October. The two Big Ten powers will play their rematch at the Rose Bowl with a CFP semifinal berth on the line.

Ohio State came up just short against Oregon in their meeting earlier this season, as they suffered a 32-31 defeat after time ran out on their potential game-winning drive. A crucial offensive pass interference call against Smith derailed that last-gasp drive, and he's still fuming about it to this day.
