Two men died in the violence on Democracy Street, in the Renaissance Park neighborhood off Tryon Road, and a Raleigh police officer remained hospitalized after the shooting. A large police truck with a ram attached to its front end remained in the alley on the street’s 600 block, where the garage door was smashed in.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A woman was taken to the hospital on Sunday evening after she was injured in a shooting. Raleigh police said officers responded to calls about a shooting at around 5:30 p.m. in the 6300 block of Hillsborough Street near a barbeque restaurant. When officers arrived they found a woman with a gunshot wound.

Kayla Biesaga lives across the street from the Raleigh home that was the site of a deadly shooting on Tuesday night. Biesaga’s family helped Jill Rohner to safety after the shooting started.
