A fresh one to three feet of new snow will fall above 4,000 feet by Friday afternoon, making for wonderful conditions at the ski resorts but tough conditions for mountain traveler

Christmas and the holiday days following could be somewhat active and stormy with rounds of significant mountain snow, gusty weather, heavy rain and the risk of landslides and some river flooding. The best chance for thunder will be over the Kitsap Peninsula, the South Sound and the Olympic Peninsula. The craft is billed as a taxi of the future.

An active jet stream will sling storm after storm into the Northwest. One after another, a series of storms will slam into Northern California and the Pacific Northwest over the next week.
