A renewed attempt to auction off the family home of Myanmar’s imprisoned former leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been unsuccessful as the property in a country embroiled in a civil war failed to attract any bidders.

The Foreign Secretary said Britain had ‘not forgotten’ those ‘arbitrarily detained’ by the military regime which leads Myanmar.

The auction of the home of ousted leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi in Yangon ended Wednesday with no bids, marking the third failed attempt to sell the property. The auction took place after previous attempts in March and August 2024 also saw no offers,
