The stranger’s name:Black Dog. Black Dog tells Jim he has come to see his old ship-mate Billyand talk square. But they’re not friends, it seems… Black Dog: You’re a dead man walking!

He warns Jim to keep an eye out for a pirate with a wooden leg. Two further visitors come to the inn: Black Dog and then the Blind Beggar - who hands Billy the notorious ‘black spot’.

The comedy group brought their version of Robert Louis Stevenson’s tale to Salisbury Playhouse from March 27 to March 29.
