In a battle against one of the top clubs in the NHL this season, the Flames fell 3-1 to the visiting Washington Capitals Tuesday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome in a spirited affair.

Logan Thompson made 32 saves, Pierre-Luc Dubois, Dylan Strome and Aliaksei Protas scored goals, and the Washington Capitals beat the Calgary Flames 3-1.

The Calgary Flames gave the NHL’s first place team a run for their money but ended up falling to the Washington Capitals 3-1. Logan Thompson came home to Calgary, stopped 32 of the 33 shots he faced and led the Caps to another victory, 3-1 over the Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome on Tuesday night. For his efforts – and his 23rd victory of the season – Thompson was named the game’s No. 1 star.
