United flight with 126 passengers hit a kite
The aircraft, a Boeing 737 operating as Flight 654 from Houston, reportedly struck a kite flying over a park located near Washington Reagan National Airport, CBS News reported. According to Air Traffic Control audio, the pilots noted the kite was "about 100 feet over the ground" and directly on the flight path before the plane hit the kite.
