An 18-year-old man from Lancaster, California, was sentenced to four years in prison Tuesday for hundreds of “swatting” calls in which he made false threats of violence across the country.

The 18-year-old made hundreds of "swatting" calls around the country, attempting to draw out large police responses.

Alan Filion called a historically black college and university in North Florida, in which he claimed to have placed bombs in the walls and ceilings.

A California teen who called in more than 375 swatting and threat calls around the country, including Florida, was sentenced to four years in prison.
