Denmark's King Frederik was set on Monday to begin a visit to Greenland to underscore unity with the semi-autonomous Danish territory in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's interest in taking over the huge Arctic island.

This has been met with strong pushback from both Denmark and Greenland. Both Frederiksen and Nielsen also said they want to work on strengthening defense ties with the United Stat
