A case about a Federal Communications Commission program that subsidizes telecommunications in underserved areas raises big legal questions for other agencies.

The Supreme Court appeared unlikely to strike down a major federal funding mechanism used by the Federal Communications Commission. During oral arguments Wednesday, the justices signaled their reluctance to deliver a broad ruling that could severely limit the power of federal agencies.

"I have asked the FCC's Enforcement Bureau to open an investigation into Disney & ABC," Carr posted on X. "While Disney started as an iconic American company, it recently went all in on DEI. I am concerned that their DEI practices may violate FCC prohibitions on invidious forms of discrimination.

In that letter, Carr accused Disney’s broadcast network ABC of “attempting to extract onerous financial and operational concessions from local broadcast TV stations under the threat of terminating long-held affiliations, which could result in blackouts and other harms to local consumers of broadcast news and content.”
