Inguinal hernia in women are less common than in men and have unique symptoms. They may occur more frequently during or after pregnancy.

The groin is located where the upper part of the thighs meets the lowest parts of the abdomen, on either side of the pubic bone. Many medical conditions can cause pain in this area in women.
