Gracie and George, the stars of Hilton Head Island Land Trust’s eagle cam, await the hatching of their eaglets.
All eyes are on Jackie and Shadow, a pair of bald eagles whose nest is covered by several live cams, after they had their first egg in late January and are now caring for three potential hatchlings.
Losing both eaglets in two days is "uncharted territory for our cameras and viewers," Southwest Florida Eagle Cam's Facebook post said. Thousands watched E24 and E25 hatch live in December.
George and Gracie were already occupying the nest when the Eagle Cam feed went live. According to the trust, it's believed that this year marks the 13th season the pair have returned to the nest.
