Your Medicare card contains a unique number exclusive to you proving whether you have Medicare Part A (hospital) or Part B (medical). Your number is separate to your Social Security number.
The new Medicare cards no longer contain a person’s Social Security number, but rather a unique, randomly assigned Medicare number that protects recipients’ identities, the agency said.
