Engineers at Illinois' Northwestern University have developed the tiniest pacemaker you'll ever see. It's several times smaller than a regular pacemaker, and it's designed for patients several times smaller than the average pacemaker user.

Neil Armstrong, the first human to walk on the moon, died from complications following heart surgery. His doctors had implanted a temporary pacemaker. When the pacemaker wires were later removed, Armstrong suffered internal bleeding — an outcome more common than many patients realize.
