Puma is pursuing legal action ... U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to stop the golf brand, which focuses on shoes and apparel, from using the proposed logo in its branding and on its merchandise.

Puma is opposing Sun Day Red's "tiger logo" and "SDR tiger logo" that Woods is aiming to trademark for the use on eyewear, bags, golf towels, clothing, footwear, sports equipment and retail services.

As both Puma and Sun Day Red logos have a 'leaping ... The latest shoe apparel addition comes after the brand launched its inaugural golf shoe, the Pioneer Cypress, in December.
