This is despite previous support for the deal. It comes after the two companies proposed measures including the sale of Tata's Trostre site in order for the merger to get the go-ahead from the EU.
A further 113 jobs are at risk out of 917 at Tata's downstream operation at Llanwern, 32 of 765 in Shotton, 22 of 29 at Swansea University and 12 of 656 in Trostre. In England a total of 70 could go.
