India's tobacco exports are set to grow by over 8 per cent and exceed Rs 13,000 crore this year. The Tobacco Board supports farmers through various measures to enhance income and production quality.

THE Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) said it collected P130.91 billion in tobacco excise taxes in the first 11 months of 2024, well behind the pace needed to hit the year’s target of P185.34 billion.

India is the fourth largest producer of Flue Cured Virginia (FCV) tobacco in the world after China, Brazil and Zimbabwe, according to A. Sridhar Babu, executive director, Tobacco Board of India.
