Officials closed dozens of schools and issued a boil-water advisory for southern parts of the county. They said several hundred thousand customers are affected.

WSSC Water has expanded a Boil Water Advisory (BWA) for all customers in southern Prince George’s County. The area, which was originally identified as everything south of MD 4 (Pennsylvania Avenue), now includes communities just north and east of MD 4 – along with all areas south of MD 4.

A powerful winter storm quickly dumped snow onto New York City, falling as quickly as 1 to 2 inches per hour. At least a dozen people, including firefighters, were injured when an industrial plant exploded in Pennsylvania. NBC News' Priscilla Thompson reports.

REMSEN, N.Y. -- The Village of Remsen has announced a water main break on Steuben Street, which is currently under repair.

A boil water advisory went into effect Tuesday for hundreds of customers across southern Prince George’s County due to a suspected water main break.

The advisory is in effect for approximately 48 hours and includes parts of Ferguson, Florissant, Hazelwood, Normandy, Kinloch and Berkeley.
