WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Meteorologist Peyton Sanders says that severe storms are expected across portions of south central and eastern Kansas Saturday evening. Most of the day will be dry, but scattered thunderstorms will develop along a cold front after 7 PM over south central and eastern Kansas.

Ahead of that we will see some much needed rain across our area including isolated thunderstorms which will have the potential of producing heavy downpours. The downside is that the storms have the potential for gusty to damaging winds, frequent lightning and the threat of small hail can't be ruled out, according to Sherman.

Confidence in severe weather affecting Alabama on Sunday is increasing, and there will be an enhanced risk for severe weather for part of the state. More severe storms are in the forecast for Monday as well.
