Some games, like Breath of the Wild, are getting upgraded versions for the new console called Nintendo Switch 2 Editions.

A handful of Switch games are receiving paid Switch 2 Editions, like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Kirby and the Forgotten Land. But then, does your original version still work on Switch after paying for those upgrades? Thankfully, Nintendo is saying yes, they'll still be compatible.

Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are both getting upgrades for smoother gameplay, higher resolution, and HDR support.
