Dylan DeMelo scored with 27 seconds left in regulation to give the Winnipeg Jets a hard-earned 2-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Thursday.

The Jets, facing a seemingly insurmountable deficit with time dwindling down, ignited their comeback engine, scoring with a dramatic late surge in the third period to steal a 2-1 victory from the Kraken in a thrilling finish on Thursday,

WINNIPEG -- Dylan DeMelo broke a tie with 27 seconds remaining, and the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Seattle Kraken 2-1 at Canada Life Centre on Thursday. DeMelo, who was playing in his 600th NHL game, scored with a wrist shot when Nikolaj Ehlers found him toward the high slot.

Youngster Matty Beniers got things going for Seattle just 8:12 into the game. A floating pass from the defensive zone caught the Jets standing still, before Kaapo Kakko fed Beniers for a redirection from the top of the crease which beat Hellebuyck for the early 1-0 score.

The Seattle Kraken travelled to the Winnipeg Jets on Jan. 16 for the last game of their road trip. The game was tied 1-1 heading into the third. It was ultimately the Jets who took the win, 2-1, at the last possible second.
