In a historic first for the Philadelphia Zoo, a 92-year-old Galápagos tortoise named Mommy has given birth for the first time, becoming the oldest documented member of her species to do so.
Mommy, who has lived at the zoo for nearly 93 years, is seen as one of the most "genetically valuable Galapagos tortoises" in the Association of Zoos and Aquarium's Species Survival Plan.
