UConn Huskies legend and incoming WNBA rookie Paige Bueckers will receive the ultimate honor from her hometown in May—when the Minnesota locale will rename itself after her in celebration of her debut as a professional athlete.

Former UConn superstar, Paige Bueckers, who was drafted by the Dallas Wings in the WNBA draft on April 13, is swapping her former double braid hairstyle in favor of a bun — a look she debuted during a press conference on April 23, 2025.

In a salute to one of its most accomplished residents, the city of Hopkins, Minnesota, will temporarily rename itself “Paige Bueckers, Minnesota” on May 16, 2025. This special designation coincides with Bueckers’ pro basketball debut after being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings.​
