Under a new plan, 3rd Street in Society Hill is set to have a bike lane, a driving lane and a lane for parking and loading.

Residents attended an open house in Philadelphia's Society Hill section Thursday to learn more about a plan to add a bike lane to part of 3rd Street.

Philadelphia City Council approved three new bike lanes across the city as officials seek to improve bike infrastructure. However, it does not appear that those lanes will be protected, which bikers have advocated for.
