Legally Blonde was a highly successful movie that spawned a sequel and a musical production. Now, the franchise is expanding with a prequel television series called Elle. The series will tell the story of what Elle Woods got up to before she became the sorority sister who broke barriers at Harvard Law.

Hollywood star Reese Witherspoon (inset) has announced that Elle, the upcoming prequel series to Legally Blonde movies, has started production. In the series, newcomer Lexi Minetree will essay the role of a young Elle Woods, a role that Witherspoon played in two movies in the 2000s.
