By Hyunjoo Jin Seoul (Reuters) -Investigators found bird feathers and blood in both engines of the Jeju Air jet that crashed in South Korea last month, killing 179 people, a person familiar with the probe told Reuters on Friday.

Acting President Choi Sang-mok orders an extensive probe into the crash and the country’s airline safety systems.

SEOUL: Investigators probing the Jeju Air crash that killed 179 people last month have found feathers in both engines, according to South Korean media reports,

The Boeing 737-800 was flying from Thailand to Muan, South Korea, on 29 December carrying 181 passengers and crew when it belly-landed at Muan airport and exploded in a fireball after slamming into a concrete barrier.

A Jeju Air aircraft crashed in South Korea on December 29, killing 179 people. Bird feathers and blood has been found in the engines of the plane.
