Draymond Green was recently listed as the favorite for Defensive Player of the Year, which shouldn’t be a major shock to many. While there are other worthy candidates, Green has been phenomenal as the heart and soul of the Golden State Warriors’ defense.

Draymond Green has been quite vocal since the All-Star break. The Warriors went and got Jimmy Butler in a trade. Since then, they have slowly climbed up in the Western Conference standings.

As the Golden State Warriors’ chances of making the playoffs have increased since Jimmy Butler arrived at the trade deadline, so has Draymond Green’s chances of winning the Defensive Player of the Year award.
