Advanced air mobility, more commonly known as flying cars, is well on its way to becoming a reality for passengers, according to industry leaders.

A helicopter that crashed into the Hudson River this afternoon, killing six people, was registered to a Broussard, Louisiana-based company, according to FAA records.

A Bell 206 helicopter belonging to a tour company crashed in the water near Jersey City and Hoboken around 3:15 p.m., according to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch.
