Grizzlies guard Ja Morant risked further action from the NBA after mimicking shooting a gun with his finger during Thursday night's 110-108 win at the Heat.
The NBA is investigating Ja Morant — who has been suspended multiple times by the NBA for waiving a gun on social media — for using a gun gesture toward the Golden State bench and in celebration of 3-pointers during the Grizzlies’ loss to the Warriors Tuesday night, reports Shams Charania of ESPN.
Morant has missed time this year due to a shoulder injury, as the Heat matchup is his 47th appearance out of 77 games. However, the Murray State alum's status may be in jeopardy for another reason going forward.
News broke on Wednesday that the NBA would be investigating Ja Morant after he appeared to aim a finger gun gesture at Golden State Warriors' Draymond Green in the final seconds of Tuesday night's Memphis Grizzlies loss. Morant, for his part, doesn't seem to think much of it.
The NBA sent a warning to Ja Morant but is not expected to penalize the Memphis Grizzlies star further for what appeared to be a gun-related gesture.
