Former 007 Pierce Brosnan is reacting to Helen Mirren’s criticism of the James Bond franchise. Last week, his MobLand co-star got candid during an interview with The London Standard, revealing she “never liked James Bond” because the concept is “drenched and born out of profound sexism.”

Pierce Brosnan admitted to People magazine that Hellen Mirren wasn’t entirely wrong to call out the James Bond franchise for its “profound sexism.” Brosnan played 007 in four movies released between 1995 and 2002.

Pierce Brosnan expressed interest in the idea of returning as James Bond as Amazon hunts for a new actor to take over the iconic role from Daniel Craig. He weighed in on the idea during an April 2 appearance on the 'Today' show.
