The Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District announced funding awardees Tuesday morning, with most being in communities that lack open space or parks – totaling 13 projects.

Thirteen cities received grants for $2 million or less across the great to develop an estimate 623 acres of additional green space.

The round of funding from Measure A will add 623 acres of green space, marking LA County Regional Park and Open Space District’s largest parkland expansion.
