The University of Arizona apologized after a portion of the team’s fanbase sang an “unacceptable chant” directed towards Brigham Young University (BYU) following the Wildcats’ men’s basketball team’s defeat at the hands of the Cougars on Saturday.

The chant was just part of a tense finish in Tucson in which BYU upset the Wildcats, 96-95. The game ended with a questionable foul call on Arizona that sent BYU to the free throw line with 3.2 seconds remaining and a chance to take the lead, and Richie Saunders nailed both to seal the win.

Arizona and BYU basketball players had to be separated from each other postgame in the handshake line as tensions flared up. Here's more:
