With TikTok's days in the U.S. potentially numbered, many American users are moving to another Chinese social media app: RedNote, a heavily censored platform similar to Instagram. Here's what to know.

Marcus Robinson, a 29-year-old fashion designer, created a Red Note account to share his thrifting adventures and promote his clothing company, P-13. He previously had accrued 21,000 followers on TikTok, and estimates that 40% of his brand’s sales came from that app. “I thought I was going to keep building and make a living ultimately,” he says.

As a possible ban on TikTok in the United States looms, several other Chinese-owned social media apps have gained popularity. Newsweek reached out to TikTok via its website for comment. TikTok will appear before the Supreme Court on Friday in a final attempt to prevent a national ban on the app.
