Bounty hunters in Mississippi could be paid by the state to help deport illegal immigrants, under proposed legislation introduced by a lawmaker.

A Mississippi lawmaker has introduced legislation which if passed would set up a bounty hunting program targeting undocumented migrants. Republican State Rep. Justin Keen from DeSoto County proposed the bill that would create the “Mississippi Illegal Alien Certified Bounty Hunter Program” which is aimed at “accelerating deportation efforts in line with the Trump Administration’s immigration priorities.
