Prince William is making his first royal outing of the year (and taking on a new patronage) after Kate Middleton announced she is in "remission" from cancer.

There’s been a major shift in Prince William’s body language. Maybe he’s relieved that his wife Kate Middleton’s cancer is in remission. Or perhaps he’s thrilled about his brand-new roles. Or maybe his growing beard has given him a new wave of confidence.

Prince William stepped out to attend his first royal event amidst Kate Middleton’s remission from cancer. The prince also went on to be announced as the new patron of the College of Paramedics.

Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, announced Tuesday she is in remission, months after completing chemotherapy for an undisclosed type of cancer that she disclosed to the world nearly a year ago.

The Prince of Wales wrote that he and the couple’s three kids — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — “are so proud” of Middleton.
